Together with more than 20 other organisations, Teckids e.V. signed a joint statement for the use of free software in schools in Baden-Württemberg.

From June, 5th to June, 9th, the Skolelinux / Debian Edu team wil be holding a development sprint during the MiniDebConf in Hamburg. Not only developers, but also users (teachers, students, parents, and everyone else) are invited to attend.

Unfortunately, we had a major service outage for just a bit more than two days due to a hardware failure and too strict security schemes ;).

With a week full of training for teachers and students, the Realschule Boltenheide in Wuppertal finalised the first phase into a complete switch to free and open source software in all areas of the school. This first phase included the installation of Skolelinux (Debian Edu) in the pedagogic network of the school.

Unfortunately, there will be no programme for children in the autumn holidays of 2018, because too few people are available to staff it.

This year again, we got to the Makerfaire in Hannover with a youth group. Our future junior member Anna Weichelt reported.

Teckids e.V. made the second place in 2018's Thomas Krenn Award. With the 2000 € that were won, parts of the infrastructure can be updated.

In February 2018, we visited the FOSDEM as part of our shul-frei programme to, among other things, give two talks. The key players here were Niels Hradek (13 y/o) and Philipp Stahl (14 y/o).

In preparation for our talk series in 2018, we do a survey among students, which has been prepared by our junior members Philipp Stahl and Niels Hradek.

Teckids e.V. has contributed to various free software projects in 2017, by submitting bug reports and feature requests as well as contributing code and collaborating in other ways. In this post, we report in which projects we took part.
